I joined this wiki because: I saw the notice about the conference and it intrigued me. I wish I could build bigger bridges between professional Language teachers in Japan, MEXT, BOE's, and JTE's. I think great things could happen if all work toward an understood and clear goal. The best word to describe me is: Oh, there are WAY too many and too varied words. Interests: Again, many and varied. Favorite movies: Among my favorites are the Sean Connery Bond movies, old Clint Eastwood movies, and a variety of other movies like Sleepless in Seattle, Forrest Gump, The Name of the Rose, and many more. I also LOVE most of the Studio Ghibli movies! Favorite TV shows: Right now I am on a "Lost" kick. So far, I am up to Season 4, thanks to the DVD set. I am also finally watching all the "Frasier" seasons I missed. I am not watching so much TV these days, I prefer to catch up on shows I missed but enjoyed when I saw a few episodes. My hero(es): This isn't an easy question to answer because there are just too many factors that go into it. I don't think I have anyone I would call a "hero". There are people I admire but not knowing who they are as a person limits my admiration to just what I see and know of them from afar. I do admire my wife, Yumiko, for being there for our family whenever I am not available. I think she is one of the strongest people I know. My superpower is: If I told you then it wouldn't be so "super" any more. If I could live anywhere, it would be: Right where I am! I do wish it was warmer here, no winter would be fantastic. My dream job(s): What I am doing right now. It has taken me a long time to find out where I "fit" in the world but I found it and I love what I am doing, teaching English in Japan. What else you should know about me: I have a B.A.H. and a B. Ed. from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. I am currently maintaining my Ontario College of Teachers certification. My teaching specialty was Junior - Intermediate History but I have since added Special Education Part 1, ESL Part 1, and ESL Part 2 to my teaching certificate. I am seriously thinking of taking the BIG LEAP and getting my Masters of Education specializing in English Language teaching and looking at researching "First Language use in the Second Language Classroom."
